The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
(On the day) when the sun is made to cease shining, 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, 4 And when the wild animals are made to go forth, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 when the souls shall be rejoined (with their bodies), 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 for what crime she was slain, 9 when the scrolls are unrolled, 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 And when the Scorch shall be made to blaze, 12 And when Paradise is brought near. 13 then every soul will discover the consequence of its deeds. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the night when it departs, 17 by the dawn sighing, 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 Owner of power, and high rank with (Allah) the Lord of the Throne, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 Your Companion is not mad, 22 And indeed he saw him on the clear horizon. (Prophet Mohammed saw Angel Jibreel in his true shape – peace and blessings be upon them). 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 Nor is this the word of a stoned satan. 25 Then where are you going? 26 It is naught but a Reminder unto all beings, 27 To whomsoever among you who wills to walk straight, 28 And you do not please except that Allah please, the Lord of the worlds. 29
