The News (Al-Naba')
40 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej) before The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ What are they asking each other about? 1 Of the mighty tiding 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Did We not make the earth a bed? 6 And the mountains as pegs? 7 And We have created you in pairs; 8 And made your sleep for rest, 9 and made the night a covering, 10 and the day as time for you to make a living? 11 And We have builded over you seven strong heavens. 12 (the sun) as a shining torch 13 And do We not send down from the clouds water in abundance, 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 And orchards full of trees and interlacing boughs. 16 VERILY, the Day of Distinction [between the true and the false] has indeed its appointed time: 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 And the mountains will be moved – they will therefore become like mirages. 20 Indeed, Hell has been lying in wait 21 For the transgressors, a place of return, 22 for the rebellious ones and they will live therein for ages. 23 They shall not taste therein cool nor drink 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 Reward proportioned (to their evil deeds). 26 for they never expected to be called to account, 27 And they denied Our signs to the extreme. 28 And all things have We preserved on record. 29 "So taste [the penalty], and never will We increase you except in torment." 30

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
