The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 And what shall make thee know that which the night-comer is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created from a gushing fluid 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 on the Day when all secrets will be laid bare, 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the heaven which giveth the returning rain, 11 by the earth cracking open with new growth. 12 Verily, it is a discourse distinguishing. 13 it is not a jest. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 So grant the unbelievers a respite: let them alone for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
