Al-Hijjr 4 of 6
Indeed the pious are amidst Gardens and springs. 45 and they will be told to enter there in peace and safety. 46 And We shall have removed whatsoever of grudge may be in their breasts: brethren they; sitting upon couches facing each other. 47 "No sense of fatigue shall touch them, nor shall they (ever) be asked to leave it." 48 ۞ (O Prophet), declare to My servants that I am indeed Ever Forgiving, Most Merciful. 49 and that My punishment is a painful punishment. 50 Inform them about the matter of Abraham's guests. 51 [how,] when they presented themselves before him and bade him peace, he answered: "Behold, we are afraid of you!" 52 'Do not be afraid' they answered. 'We come to give you glad tidings of a knowledgeable child' 53 He said: bear ye me glad tidings when old age hath touched me? of what then ye bear me glad tidings? 54 "We have given you the happy tidings of a truth," they replied. "So do not be one of those who despair." 55 [Ibrahim (Abraham)] said: "And who despairs of the Mercy of his Lord except those who are astray?" 56 Messengers, what is your task?" 57 They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals, 58 (All) save the family of Lot. Them we shall deliver every one, 59 "Except his wife, of whom We have decreed that she shall be of those who remain behind (i.e. she will be destroyed)." 60

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
