54 verses, revealed in Mecca after Forgiver (Ghaafer) before Consultation (Al-Shooraa)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

HaMeem. 1 THE BESTOWAL from on high [of this revelation] issues from the Most Gracious, the Dispenser of Grace: 2 a Book whose revelations are well expounded, an Arabic Quran for people who possess knowledge, 3 It contains glad news and warnings (for the people), but most of them have ignored it and do not listen. 4 And say: "Our hearts are immured against what you call us to. There is a deafness in our ears, and a veil lies between us and you. So act (your way), we are acting (ours)." 5 Say: 'I am only a mortal, like you are. To me it has been revealed that your God is One God; so go straight with Him, and ask for His forgiveness; and woe to the idolaters 6 Those who do not give the obligatory charity, and who deny the Hereafter. 7 "The ones who believe and perform good deeds shall have a reward which will never be withheld from them." 8
