Has there come to you information about the honored guests of Ibrahim? 24 When they came in to him, and said, "Salam, (peace be upon you)!" He answered; "Salam, (peace be upon you)," and said: "You are a people unknown to me," 25 So he turned to his household and brought a fattened calf. 26 He then presented it before them and said, “Do you not eat?” 27 Then he conceived a fear about them, and they said: 'Have no fear', and gave him the glad tidings that he was to have a knowledgeable son. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 They said: even so saith thine Lord. Verily He! He is the Wise, the Knower. 30 ۞ He said: what then is your errand! O ye sent ones! 31 They said, "Indeed, we have been sent to a people of criminals 32 "To bring on, on them, (a shower of) stones of clay (brimstone), 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 So We brought the believers out of that they were in. 35 We therefore found just one house over there that was Muslim. 36 And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers]. 37 There is also a Sign for you in the story of Moses when We sent him with a clear authority to Pharaoh. 38 But he turned his back, he and his courtiers, and said, "This is a sorcerer or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 There is another sign in the [tribe of] 'Ad, when We sent against them a life-destroying wind 41 which turned everything it approached into dust. 42 And in Thamood it was said to them: 'Take your enjoyment for awhile' 43 after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer's commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on: 44 And they were unable to rise up, nor could they help themselves. 45 And before them, We destroyed the people of Nooh; they were indeed a sinning nation. 46
