(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Has he knowledge of the Unknown that he perceives everything? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 And that for man shall be naught save that wherefor he endeavoureth. 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 then he shall be recompensed for it with the fullest recompense, 41 And that thy Lord, He is the goal; 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 That it is He Who granteth Death and Life; 44 And that He createth the two spouses, the male and the female, 45 from an ejaculated drop (of sperm), 46 That the second creation is incumbent on Him; 47 and that it is He who gives riches and causes to hoard, 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 Thamud, 51 and the people of Noah before -- certainly they did exceeding evil, and were insolent 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 None beside Allah can disclose it. 58 Do you then wonder at this recital (the Quran)? 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 while you make merry? 61 So prostrate yourselves before Allah and worship. ۩ 62
