A numerous company from among the first, 39 And a multitude of those of later time. 40 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 41 Will be in the scorching wind and boiling water, 42 And shadow of black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor honorable. 44 They had lived in luxury before this 45 And they have been persisting in the heinous offence. 46 And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised? 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Proclaim, “Without doubt all – the former and the latter.” 49 shall be gathered to the appointed time of a known day. 50 Then you, the erring ones and those that gave the lie to the Truth, 51 Shall surely eat of the tree of Az-Zqqum. 52 Then will fill your bellies with it. 53 and shall drink boiling water on top of that. 54 drinking it as thirsty camels do.” 55 Such will be their entertainment on the Day of Requital! 56 We created you; therefore why will you not believe? 57 Have you ever considered that [seed] which you emit? 58 Do you create it, or We are its creator? 59 We have decreed Death to be your common lot, and We are not to be frustrated 60 from changing the nature of your existence and bringing you into being [anew] in a manner [as yet] unknown to you. 61 And you have already known the first creation, so will you not remember? 62 Have you ever considered the seed which you cast upon the soil? 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 If We so wished, We could have reduced your harvest to rubble, and you would have been left wonder-struck to exclaim: 65 [Saying], "Indeed, we are [now] in debt; 66 Rather, we have been deprived." 67 Behold! the water which ye drink: 68 Do ye bring it down (in rain) from the cloud or do We? 69 If We will, We would make it bitter, why then do you not give thanks? 70 Have you ever considered the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who grew its tree, or is it We Who create? 72 We! it is We Who made it a reminder and a provision unto the campers. 73 Glorify, then, (O Prophet), the name of your Great Lord. 74
