Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Have you heard about the Overwhelming Event? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 be toiling and worn-out; 3 Entering into burning fire, 4 given to drink from a boiling spring. 5 They will have no food except bitter thorn, 6 Neither nourishing nor banishing hunger. 7 Some faces on that Day will be radiant, 8 Well-pleased because of their striving, 9 They will be in a lofty Garden 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Within it is a flowing spring. 12 raised couches, 13 Goblets set, 14 cushions ranged, 15 and carpets spread out. 16 Do they not look at the camels, how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And at the mountains, how they are rooted? 19 And the earth: how it was spread out? 20 Then remind them! Thou art only a reminder; 21 You are not at all a guardian over them. 22 But whosoever will turn back and disbelieve 23 will be punished by God with the greatest punishment. 24 To Us is surely their returning; 25 Then indeed, upon Us is their account. 26
