The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
I CALL TO witness the heavens and the night Star -- 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 For every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man observe from what he was created. 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 issuing from between the backbone and the breastbone: 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Verily, they are but plotting a plot (against you O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)). 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 Let, then, the deniers of the truth have their will: let them have their will for a little while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
