He Frowned ('Abasa)
42 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Stars (Al-Najm) before Destiny (Al-Qadr)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ HE FROWNED AND turned away, 1 because the blind man approached him! 2 What made you think that he will not grow in virtue, 3 or have been reminded [of the truth,] and helped by this reminder. 4 As for he who thinks himself without need, 5 To him do you address yourself. 6 Yet it is not thy concern if he grow not (in grace). 7 And as to him who comes to you striving hard, 8 and in awe [of God] 9 So you leave him, and are engrossed elsewhere! 10 Nay, but verily it is an Admonishment, 11 For any one who desires to bear it in mind, 12 upon highly honored pages, 13 exalted, purified, 14 by the hands of scribes 15 Who are noble, virtuous. 16 Accursed is man. How ungrateful is he! 17 Of what did He create him? 18 Out of a drop of sperm! He creates and proportions him, 19 Then the way He made easy. 20 Then He caused him to die and be buried 21 Then when He pleases, He will bring him back to life. 22 No! Man has not yet accomplished what He commanded him. 23 Let Man consider his nourishment. 24 It is We Who pour forth water, pouring, 25 and then We cleaved the earth asunder. 26 and thereupon We cause grain to grow out of it, 27 grapes, vegetables, 28 and the olive, and the palm, 29 And gardens of dense shrubbery 30 fruits, and grass. 31 (To be) a provision and benefit for you and your cattle. 32 But when there comes the Deafening Blast 33 upon the day when a man shall flee from his brother, 34 And from his mother and father, 35 And from his wife and his children. 36 for on that day everyone will be completely engrossed in his own concerns. 37 Faces on that Day shall be beaming, 38 Laughing, joyous. 39 And (many) faces on that day, on them shall be dust, 40 Blackness will cover them. 41 These will be the unbelievers, the wicked. 42
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
