Nay, by the moon, 32 by the retreating night, 33 And by the Dawn as it shineth forth,- 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 Warn the men. 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every soul is mortgaged for its own deeds. 38 Except those on the right side. 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 Of evil-doers: 41 "What led you into Hell Fire?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 and we indulged in vain talk with those who indulged in vain talk, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 Let any who will, keep it in remembrance! 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
