The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
When the sun shall be darkened, 1 When the stars fall, losing their lustre; 2 And when the mountains shall made to pass away; 3 And when milch camels roam abandoned. 4 when the savage beasts shall be mustered, 5 the oceans are brought to a boil, 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 When the ledgers are laid open, 10 And when the sky is stripped away 11 hell is made to blaze, 12 And when the Garden is brought near;- 13 then, each soul shall know what it has produced. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 Who move straight and stop. 16 The closing night, 17 And by the dawn when it breathes 18 [That] indeed, the Qur'an is a word [conveyed by] a noble messenger 19 The mighty, the honoured in the presence of the Lord of the Throne. 20 Obeyed there [in the heavens] and trustworthy. 21 And (O people) your companion (Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) is not a madman; 22 And of a truth he saw himself on the clear horizon. 23 he is not grudging of the Unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of a satan accursed. 25 Whither then will you go? 26 This is certainly the guidance for all (jinn and mankind). 27 for everyone of you who wishes to follow the Straight Way; 28 And you do not will except that Allah wills - Lord of the worlds. 29
