The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the stinters; 1 Those who, when they take by measure from mankind, exact the full, 2 But if they give by measure or by weight to them, they cause loss. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 On a Great Day, 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 No indeed, the Book of the immoral is in Sijjeen. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record. 9 Woe on that Day unto those who give the lie to the truth 10 Who deny the Day of Recompense. 11 And none gives the lie to it but every exceeder of limits, sinful one 12 When you recite Our verses to him, he says, “Stories of earlier men!” 13 They will never have faith. In fact, their hearts are stained from their deeds. 14 No indeed; but upon that day they shall be veiled from their Lord, 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 and it will be said to them: 'This is that which you belied' 17 Nay! Most surely the record of the righteous shall be in the Iliyin. 18 What could let you know what the 'Illiyoon is! 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 To which bear witness those nearest (to Allah, i.e. the angels). 21 The virtuous will live in bliss, 22 On couches, gazing, 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given pure wine to drink, which is kept preserved, sealed. 25 The last of it is musk. So for this let the competitors compete. 26 and its mixture is Tasneem, 27 A fountain from which drink they who are drawn near (to Allah). 28 Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 And when they returned to their people, they would return jesting. 31 and when they saw the believers, they said: “Lo! These are the erring ones”; 32 No one has appointed them to watch over the believers. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 On adorned couches, observing. 35 Have the unbelievers been duly rewarded for their deeds? 36
