The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)

۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 he who is given his record in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 No, the unbelievers only belie, 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
