The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their fellowman Lut said to them, “Do you not fear?” 161 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 162 Have fear of God and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 Do you approach males among the worlds 165 And leave ye your spouses your Lord hath created for you? Aye! ye are a people trespassing. 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said: "I am one of those who abhor your practice. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my followers from what they do. 169 Then We delivered him and all his family 170 Except an old woman, among those who remained behind. 171 Then We destroyed the others. 172 and We rained on them a rain; and evil is the rain of them that are warned. 173 Surely in that is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 your Lord is the Mighty One, the Merciful. 175
