The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ The Beneficent (God) 1 It is He Who has taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man 3 He has taught him speech (and intelligence). 4 The sun and the moon run on their fixed courses (exactly) calculated with measured out stages for each (for reckoning, etc.). 5 The stars and the trees prostrate. 6 He raised the heavens and set up everything in balance, 7 that you may not transgress in the balance, 8 but weigh things equitably and skimp not in the balance. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 with fruit thereon, and palm trees with sheathed clusters [of dates,] 11 Husked grain and scented herb. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of clay like the potter's, 14 And created jinns from the white-hot flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 Lord of the two Easts, Lord of the two Wests. 17 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 21 From the two oceans comes pearls and coral. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 And to Him belong the ships [with sails] elevated in the sea like mountains. 24 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 25
