The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 And when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not think that they will be resurrected 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 and what could make you understand what the Sijjin is? -- 8 A written record. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 Those who belie the Day of Requital. 11 Yet none gives the lie to it except the transgressor immersed in sin; 12 Who, when thou readest unto him Our revelations, saith: (Mere) fables of the men of old. 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 Then, verily they will indeed enter and taste the burning flame of Hell. 16 And it will be said (unto them): This is that which ye used to deny. 17 No! Indeed, the record of the righteous is in 'illiyyun. 18 And what will explain to thee what 'Illiyun is? 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 To which bear witness those brought nigh. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Bliss; 22 seated on couches and gazing around in wonder. 23 You can trace on their faces the joy of their bliss. 24 They shall be given to drink of a wine that is sealed, 25 Whose seal is musk - for this let (all) those strive who strive for bliss - 26 a wine tempered with the waters of Tasnim, 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 The sinners laughed at the believers 29 And when they passed by them, they winked at one another. 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 Whereas they have not at all been sent as guardians over them. 33 This day it is those who believe who have the laugh of disbelievers, 34 as they sit on couches, gazing around. 35 Will not the disbelievers then be duly recompensed for their laughing at the believers? 36
