The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
By the sky with its constellations, 1 by the Promised Day, 2 And the witness and the witnessed, 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 And they witnessed (all) that they were doing against the Believers. 7 The only reason for which they tormented the believers was the latter's belief in God, the Majestic, and Praiseworthy. 8 Who, to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness over everything. 9 Surely for those who persecute believers, men and women, and do not repent afterwards, is the punishment of Hell, and the punishment of burning. 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 Indeed, it is He who originates [creation] and repeats. 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 Master of the Honourable Throne. 15 Doer (without let) of all that He intends. 16 Has not there come to you the story of the hosts, 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 Nay! those who disbelieve are in (the act of) giving the lie to the truth. 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 Nay! it is a glorious Quran, 21 [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. 22
