The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
78 verses, revealed in Medina after Thunder (Al-Ra'ad) before The Human (Al-Insan)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ The Merciful 1 Taught the Quran. 2 has created man, 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon follow courses (exactly) computed; 5 [before Him] prostrate themselves the stars and the trees. 6 And the heaven, He raised it high, and He made the balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 Always measure with justice and do not give short measure. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein are fruits and palm trees with sheaths, 11 And grain having husks and scented plants. 12 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 16 The Lord of the Two Easts, the Lord of the Two Wests. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 and yet there is a barrier between them which they may not overstep. 20 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 25

عند قراءة القرآن الملون في وضعية اللغة العربية المرسومة بالأحرف الإنجليزية، قد لا تلاحظ وجود منظومة برمجية مصممة لمطابقة متطلبات علامات الوقف في النص العربي الأصلي. فكما تعلم، يحتوي القرآن على خمسة أنواع رئيسية من علامات الوقف. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
