Nay, verily: By the Moon, 32 And by the Night as it retreateth, 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 hell is certainly the greatest calamity. 35 it is a warning to man, 36 to everyone of you, whether he chooses to come forward or to hang back! 37 [On the Day of Judgment,] every human being will be held in pledge for whatever [evil] he has wrought 38 Except the people of the right hand, 39 In Gardens they will question 40 of those who were lost in sin: 41 "what led you into hell?" 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 and neither did we feed the needy; 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who entered into vain discourses. 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Then what is wrong with them (i.e. the disbelievers) that they turn away from (receiving) admonition? 49 As though they were asses startled. 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
