The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 and float [through space] with floating serene, 3 by the angels who hasten along 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 On the day when the first trumpet sound blasts 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts, that Day, will tremble, 8 [and] their eyes downcast... 9 [And yet,] some say: "What! Are we indeed to be restored to our former state 10 “When we have become decayed bones?” 11 They shall say, 'That then were a losing return!' 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 to bring them out of their graves and back to life on the earth's surface. 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 Lo! His Sustainer called out to him in the twice-hallowed valley: 16 saying, "Go to the Pharaoh. He has transgressed beyond all bounds. 17 And say, "Hast thou the will to purify thyself; 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 Then he shewed him the great sign. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he gathered his people and cried aloud, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
