Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful

Gross rivalry diverts you, 1 Until you come to the graves. 2 No indeed; but soon you shall know. 3 Nay, but ye will come to know! 4 Nay! if you had known with a certain knowledge, 5 that you shall surely see Hell? 6 Then you shall most certainly see it with the eye of certainty; 7 Then, on that Day, you shall be asked about the delight (you indulged in, in this world)! 8

True are the words of God the Almighty.
