Q (Qaaf)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Qaf. CONSIDER this sublime Qur'an! 1 But nay - they deem it strange that a warner should have come unto them from their own midst; and so these deniers of the truth are saying, "A strange thing is this! 2 "When we are dead and have become dust (shall we be resurrected?) That is a far return." 3 We already know how much of them (of their bodies) the earth will consume. With Us there is a Book that contains all records. 4 But they denied the truth when it came to them, so they are in a confused condition. 5 Have they not seen how We have established the sky above them and decked it without gaps and cracks? 6 And the earth - We spread it out and cast therein firmly set mountains and made grow therein [something] of every beautiful kind, 7 as a lesson and a reminder to every penitent worshiper. 8 We sent down blessed water from the sky with which We caused gardens and the grains of harvest to grow, 9 and tall palm-trees with their thickly-clustered dates, 10 As sustenance for the bondmen; and with it We revived a dead city; this is how you will be raised. 11 In the past Noah's people, and the people of Rass and Thamud gave the lie (to Messengers), 12 And 'Aad and Pharaoh and the brothers of Lot 13 and the dwellers of the wooded dales [of Madyan,] and the people of Tubba: they all gave the lie to the apostles - and thereupon that whereof I had warned [them] came true. 14 Were We then worn out by the first creation? Yet they are in doubt about a second creation. 15
