Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he [claim to] have knowledge of something that is beyond the reach of human perception, so that he can see [it clearly]? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 “That no bearer of a burden shall bear the burden of another, 38 That man can have nothing but what he strives for; 39 That his endeavours will be judged, 40 Then will he be rewarded with a reward complete; 41 That to thy Lord is the final Goal; 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And that it is He Who gave death and gave life? 44 And that He creates the two mates - the male and female - 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 and that it is He alone who frees from want and causes to possess; 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 And that He destroyed the former (tribe of) A'ad, 50 and Thamud tribes, 51 And the people of Nuh before; surely they were most unjust and inordinate; 52 And that it is He Who threw down the upturned townships? 53 So that they were covered over by what they were covered over. 54 Then which of the Graces of your Lord (O man!) will you doubt. 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Approaching Day has approached. 57 No one besides God can rescue a soul from hardship. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 And laugh and not weep, 60 Wasting your time in vanities? 61 So bow yourselves before God, and serve Him! ۩ 62
