۞ (God will command the angels), "Gather together the unjust, their spouses, and what they had worshipped 22 “Instead of Allah – and herd them to the path leading to hell.” 23 Stop them. They must be questioned." 24 What is the matter with you that you do not help each other? 25 In fact this day they have all surrendered. 26 and advance one upon another, asking each other questions. 27 They will say: "It was ye who used to come to us from the right hand (of power and authority)!" 28 They will say: "No, you were the ones who would not believe. 29 we had no power over you; but you yourselves were a rebellious people. 30 "So now has been proved true, against us, the word of our Lord that we shall indeed (have to) taste (the punishment of our sins). 31 For we had led you astray. In fact we ourselves were astray." 32 Then lo! this day they (both) are sharers in the doom. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 for, behold, whenever they were told, "There is no deity save God," they would glory in their arrogance 35 and said, "Should we give up our idols for the sake of an insane poet". 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 (They will be told): “You shall taste the grievous chastisement. 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 40 Those will have a provision determined - 41 fruits -- and they high-honoured 42 in the Gardens of Bliss, 43 On couches, facing one another. 44 Round them will be passed a cup of pure wine; 45 White, delicious for the drinkers. 46 but not harmful or intoxicating. 47 And besides them will be chaste women, restraining their glances, with big eyes (of wonder and beauty). 48 who are as chaste as sheltered eggs. 49 And they will approach one another, inquiring of each other. 50 One of them will start the talk and say: "I had an intimate companion (on the earth), 51 who would say: "Are you among the believers (of the resurrection)? 52 That when we have died and become dust and bones, we will indeed be recompensed?'" 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 Then he will look and see him in the midst of the Fire. 55 'By God', he said, 'you had almost ruined me. 56 "Had it not been for the Grace of my Lord, I should certainly have been among those brought (there)! 57 (Allah informs about that true believer that he said): "Are we then not to die (any more)? 58 except for our first death? Are we not going to be punished? 59 “This is, most certainly, the supreme success.” 60 For this the toilers should strive." 61 Is this better as an entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum? 62 We have appointed it as a trial for the evildoers. 63 Indeed, it is a tree issuing from the bottom of the Hellfire, 64 The shoots of its fruit-stalks are like the heads of devils: 65 They will eat and fill their bellies with it, 66 And thereafter verily they shall have thereon a draught of boiling water. 67 And afterward, lo! their return is surely unto hell. 68 Indeed they found their fathers astray. 69 yet they run in their footsteps, 70 yet before them most of the ancients went astray, 71 though We had sent warners among them. 72 Observe, then, what was the end of those that had been warned, 73 But not the chosen servants of Allah. 74
