Hizb 46

So also was Jonah among those sent (by Us). 139 Call to mind when he fled to the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 [and they cast him into the sea,] whereupon the great fish swallowed him, for he had been blameworthy. 142 And had he not been of those who exalt Allah, 143 He would have tarried in the belly thereof till the Day when they are raised. 144 ۞ But We caused him to be cast forth on to the beach, sick as he was, 145 And We caused to grow up for him a gourdplant. 146 Then We sent him unto a hundred thousand, or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them enjoyment [of life] for a time. 148 Now ask them whether your Lord has daughters, whereas they have sons. 149 Or did We create the angels females, while they were witnesses? 150 It is only because of their false invention that they say, 151 "God has begotten children." They are truly liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters in preference to sons? 153 What is the matter with you? How do you judge? 154 Will you not then reflect? 155 Or, do you have a clear authority? 156 Bring your Book, if you are truthful. 157 They claim that He has kinship with the jinn, yet the jinn themselves know that they will be produced before Him [for judgement]. 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 except the servants of God, sincere and devoted. 160 But as for you, and that you serve, 161 you shall not tempt any against Him 162 Save him who will go to hell. 163 [The angels say], "Every single one of us has his place assigned: 164 And verily we! we are ranged in ranks. 165 we are they that give glory. 166 And indeed, the disbelievers used to say, 167 Had we but an admonition as had the ancients. 168 we would certainly be true servants of God." 169 And yet, [now that this divine writ has been placed before them,] they refuse to acknowledge it as true! In time, however, they will come to know [what it was that they had rejected]: 170 Already has Our Word been passed before (this) to our Servants sent (by Us), 171 That they would be helped, 172 And that certainly Our armies will be victorious. 173 So, [O Muhammad], leave them for a time. 174 And see them thou; they themselves shall presently see. 175 Would they hasten on Our doom? 176 Then when it descendeth unto them face to face, a hapless morn that shall be for those who were warned. 177 And turn thou aside from them for a season. 178 And see thou: they themselves shall presently see. 179 Glory be to thy Lord, the Lord of Glory, above that they describe! 180 And peace be on the Messengers! 181 And praise be to Allah, Lord of the Worlds! 182
True are the words of God the Almighty.
End of Surah: The Arrangers (Al-Saaffaat). Sent down in Mecca after Animals (Al-An 'aam) before Luqmaan (Luqmaan)
