The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the Mount, 1 and the Book inscribed 2 In parchment unrolled. 3 by the Visited House, 4 by the high ceiling (heaven), 5 And by the Ocean filled with Swell;- 6 the punishment of your Lord shall certainly come to pass, 7 there is none who could avert it. 8 On the Day the heaven will sway with circular motion 9 and the mountains shudder and shake. 10 Woe on that Day to those who deny the truth, 11 Who are playing in falsehood. 12 On the Day when they shall be thrust into Hell with a violent thrust (and shall be told): 13 (And told:) "This is the fire which you denied. 14 Was it, then, a delusion or is it that you failed to see [its truth]? 15 Burn in its heat. It is all the same for you whether you exercise patience or not; This is the recompense for your deeds". 16 Indeed, the righteous will be in gardens and pleasure, 17 rejoicing in whatever their Lord has given them. Their Lord has saved them from the torment of the Fire, 18 'Eat and drink, with wholesome appetite, for that you were working. 19 The God-fearing shall be reclining on couches facing each other, and We shall wed them to maidens with large, beautiful eyes. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 And We aided them with fruit and meat, whatever they desire. 22 They shall pass therein from one to another a cup wherein there shall be nothing vain nor any sin. 23 ۞ There will circulate among them [servant] boys [especially] for them, as if they were pearls well-protected. 24 And some of them shall advance towards others questioning each other. 25 Saying, “Indeed before this, we were in our houses, worried.” 26 Wherefore Allah hath obliged us, and hath protected us from the torment of the Scorch. 27 "Truly, we did call unto Him from of old: truly it is He, the Beneficent, the Merciful!" 28
