The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 By those who gently draw out (the souls of the blessed); 2 by those that swim serenely 3 and those that outstrip suddenly 4 And who plan the implementation. 5 The day on which the quaking one shall quake, 6 Followed by the second blast, 7 hearts upon that day shall be athrob 8 and their eyes shall be humbled. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we have been reduced to bones, hollow and rotten?” 11 They said, “So this return is an obvious loss!” 12 [But,] then, that [Last Hour] will be [upon them of a sudden, as if it were] but a single accusing cry 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 When his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa. 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say: Have you (a desire) to purify yourself: 18 [If so,] then I shall guide thee towards [a cognition of] thy Sustainer, so that [henceforth] thou wilt stand in awe [of Him].'" 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 But Pharaoh denied and disobeyed. 21 then he turned away hastily, 22 And he summoned all his people, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 And thereupon God took him to task, [and made him] a warning example in the life to come as well as in this world. 25 Most surely there is in this a lesson to him who fears. 26
