The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them tidings of a painful punishment, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
