When the messengers came to Lot and his family, 61 he said, "You seem to be strangers". 62 They said, "But we have come to you with that about which they were disputing, 63 We truly tell you that we have brought to you the Truth. 64 Go, then, with thy household while it is yet night, with thyself following them in the rear; and let none of you look back, but proceed whither you are bidden." 65 And We made known to him this decree that the wrongdoers were to be utterly cut off in the morning. 66 And the people of the town came rejoicing. 67 and he told them, "These are my guests, so do not disgrace me. 68 And keep your duty to Allah, and shame me not! 69 They said; Have we not forbidden you from (entertaining) anyone? 70 "Here are my daughters," said Lot, "if you are so active." 71 By thy life, in their intoxication they were wandering bewildered. 72 An explosion struck them at sunrise. 73 And We utterly confounded them, and We rained upon them stones of heated clay. 74 Indeed in that are signs for those who discern. 75 And verily they are on a pathway lasting. 76 Lo! therein is indeed a portent for believers. 77 And the companions of the thicket were [also] wrongdoers. 78 So We took retribution from them, and indeed, both [cities] are on a clear highway. 79
