Seest thou not that We have set the devils on the disbelievers to confound them with confusion? 83 Therefore be not in haste against them, We only number out to them a number (of days). 84 On the day that We shall muster the godfearing to the All-merciful with pomp 85 And will drive the criminals to Hell in thirst 86 no one will be able to intercede for the others except those whom the Beneficent God has given authority. 87 And they say: "The Most Beneficent (Allah) has begotten a son (or offspring or children) [as the Jews say: 'Uzair (Ezra) is the son of Allah, and the Christians say that He has begotten a son ['Iesa (Christ)], and the pagan Arabs say that He has begotten daughters (angels, etc.)]." 88 Indeed you have brought forth (said) a terrible evil thing. 89 The heavens are wellnigh rent of it and the earth split asunder, and the mountains wellnigh fall down crashing for 90 because they have ascribed a son to the Merciful. 91 And it does not befit the Most Gracious to choose an offspring! 92 None there is in the heavens and the earth but must come unto the Compassionate as a bondman. 93 Certainly He has a comprehensive knowledge of them and He has numbered them a (comprehensive) numbering. 94 And each of them is to come to Him on the Day of Judgment alone. 95 On those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, will (Allah) Most Gracious bestow love. 96 We have made it easy in your own tongue in order that you proclaim the glad tidings to the cautious and give warning to a stubborn nation. 97 And how many a generation before them have We destroyed! Canst thou (Muhammad) see a single man of them, or hear from them the slightest sound? 98
