And recall what time We said to the angels: prostrate yourselves before Adam. They fell prostrate, but Iblis did not; he refused. 116 'Adam' We said, 'This is you and your wife's enemy. Do not let him expel you from the Garden, so that you (Adam) will be tired. 117 It has been given to you so that you shall neither become hungry nor naked therein; 118 and that thou shalt not thirst here or suffer from the heat of the sun." 119 But Satan whispered evil to him: he said, "O Adam! shall I lead thee to the Tree of Eternity and to a kingdom that never decays?" 120 Then they both ate of the tree, and so their private parts appeared to them, and they began to stick on themselves the leaves from Paradise for their covering. Thus did Adam disobey his Lord, so he went astray. 121 Then his Lord chose him, so He turned to him and guided (him). 122 He said, “Both of you go down from heaven, one of you is an enemy to the other; then if the guidance from Me comes to you – then whoever follows My guidance, will not go astray nor be ill-fated.” 123 "But whosoever turns away from My Message, verily for him is a life narrowed down, and We shall raise him up blind on the Day of Judgment." 124 He will say: My Lord! Wherefor hast Thou gathered me (hither) blind, when I was wont to see? 125 God will say, "Just as Our signs came to you and you ignored them, so will you on this Day be ignored." 126 Thus do We requite him who transgresses and does not believe in the signs of your Lord (during the life of the world); and surely the punishment of the Hereafter is even more terrible and more enduring. 127 Did they not find any guidance in the fact that We destroyed many nations in whose ruined dwelling-places they now walk about? Surely there are many Signs in them for people endowed with wisdom. 128
