The people of Lut gave the lie to the apostles. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 I have been sent as a trusted messenger to you. 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 I seek of you no reward. My reward is with none but the Lord of the Universe. 164 Do you, in the world, want to have carnal relations with males 165 and leave your wives whom your Lord has created for you? You are a people who transgress all bounds." 166 Said they: "Indeed, If thou desist not, O Lot, thou wilt most certainly be expelled [from this township]!" 167 He said: "I am, indeed, of those who disapprove with severe anger and fury your (this evil) action (of sodomy). 168 Lord, save me and my family from their deeds." 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except one old woman who remained behind. 171 Then afterward We destroyed the others. 172 and rained down upon them a rain [of destruction]: and dire is such rain upon all who let themselves be warned [to no avail]! 173 Indeed in this is a sign; and most of them were not Muslims. 174 Surely thy Lord, He is the All-mighty, the All-compassionate. 175
