The Amramites (Al-Imraan)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Alif Lam Mim. 1 Allah There is no god but He, the Living, the Sustainer. 2 He has revealed to you the Book with truth, verifying that which is before it, and He revealed the Tavrat and the Injeel aforetime, a guidance for the people, and He sent the Furqan. 3 Before this as guidance for men, and has sent the criterion (of falsehood and truth). As for those who deny the signs of God, the punishment is severe; for God is all powerful and great His requital. 4 From God nothing whatever is hidden in heaven and earth. 5 He it is Who shapes you in the wombs as He likes; there is no god but He, the Mighty, the Wise 6 He it is Who has sent down to thee the Book: In it are verses basic or fundamental (of established meaning); they are the foundation of the Book: others are allegorical. But those in whose hearts is perversity follow the part thereof that is allegorical, seeking discord, and searching for its hidden meanings, but no one knows its hidden meanings except Allah. And those who are firmly grounded in knowledge say: "We believe in the Book; the whole of it is from our Lord:" and none will grasp the Message except men of understanding. 7 “Our Lord! Do not deviate our hearts after You have guided us, and bestow mercy on us from Yourself; indeed You only are the Great Bestower.” 8 Our Lord, it is Thou that shall gather mankind for a day whereon is no doubt; verily God will not fail the tryst. 9
