Hast thou received the story of the honoured guests of Abraham? 24 When they came to him they said, "Peace!" He answered, "Peace!" [saying to himself]. "They are strangers." 25 Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf, 26 And placed it before them.. he said, "Will ye not eat?" 27 And he felt from them apprehension. They said, "Fear not," and gave him good tidings of a learned boy. 28 (Sarah) his wife came with an exclamation and clasped her face, and said: 'Surely, I am a barren old woman' 29 They said, "This is true but your Lord has said, (that you will have a son); He is All-wise and All-knowing". 30 ۞ (Abraham) said: And (afterward) what is your errand, O ye sent (from Allah)? 31 They replied: 'We are sent to a sinful nation, 32 to loose upon them stones of clay 33 marked by your Lord upon those who go beyond the limits.” 34 We saved all the faithful in the town. 35 We found in it only one household of true believers -- 36 And We have left there a sign (i.e. the place of the Dead Sea, well-known in Palestine) for those who fear the painful torment. 37 In Moses, too, (there were signs). We sent him to Pharaoh with clear authority, 38 But he turned away with his supporters and said," A magician or a madman." 39 So We seized him and his hosts, and We cast them into the sea, and he blameworthy. 40 And also in Ad, when We loosed against them the withering wind 41 Which turned everything it touched to ashes. 42 And in Thamud's also was a lesson, when it was said unto them: enjoy yourselves for a season. 43 They transgressed against the command of their Lord. So a blast of sound struck them and they were unable to do anything but stare. 44 So they were neither able to stand up, nor were they able to take revenge. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
