The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 who taught the Quran -- 2 He hath created man. 3 He has imparted unto him articulate thought and speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 That you not transgress within the balance. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And the earth, He has set it for living creatures; 10 Wherein are fruit and sheathed palm-trees, 11 and a variety of corn with both husk and grain. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 And the jinn did He create of smokeless fire. 15 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 16 Lord of the East and Lord of the West. 17 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 Between them is a barrier, which they do not overrun. 20 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 21 Pearls and coral-stone come forth from them. 22 Which of the wonders of your Lord's power will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 23 To Him only belong the sailing ships, raised above the sea like hills. 24 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 25
