Whatever misfortune happens to you, is because on the things your hands have wrought, and for many (of them) He grants forgiveness. 30 You are not able to frustrate Him in the earth; and, apart from God, you have neither protector nor helper. 31 And among His Signs are the ships, smooth-running through the ocean, (tall) as mountains. 32 if He will, He calms the wind so that they remain motionless upon its back, surely, there are signs in this for every thankful, patient (person). 33 Or He can cause them to perish because of the (evil) which (the men) have earned; but much doth He forgive. 34 And for those who dispute regarding Our signs to realise; that they do not have a place to escape to. 35 So whatever thing you have been given - it is but [for] enjoyment of the worldly life. But what is with Allah is better and more lasting for those who have believed and upon their Lord rely 36 and who shun the more heinous sins and abominations; and who, whenever they are moved to anger, readily forgive; 37 who respond to their Lord and attend to their prayers; who conduct their affairs by mutual consultation and spend out of what We have provided for them; 38 And those who, when an oppressive wrong is done to them, they take revenge. 39 The recompense for an evil is an evil like thereof, but whoever forgives and makes reconciliation, his reward is due from Allah. Verily, He likes not the Zalimun (oppressors, polytheists, and wrong-doers, etc.). 40 But indeed if any do help and defend themselves after a wrong (done) to them, against such there is no cause of blame. 41 Reproach is only against those who oppress people, and wrongfully spread rebellion in the land; for them is a painful punishment. 42 And verily whoso is patient and forgiveth - lo! that, verily, is (of) the steadfast heart of things. 43
