In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By those [winds] sent forth in gusts 1 Which then blow violently in tempestuous Gusts, 2 And [by] the winds that spread [clouds] 3 then the criterion (the verses of Koran), separating 4 And then by those that instil Remembrance into the hearts. 5 excusing or warning, 6 surely that which you are promised is about to fall! 7 Then when the stars lose their lights; 8 And when the heaven is cloven asunder. 9 When the mountains are scattered (to the winds) as dust; 10 And when the messengers' time has come... 11 to what day shall they be deferred? 12 To the Day of Decision. 13 What do you know what the Day of Judgement is? 14 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 15 Did We not destroy the earlier peoples? 16 and then follow them with the later folk? 17 Thus do We deal with the Mujrimun (polytheists, disbelievers, sinners, criminals, etc.)! 18 Woe on that day to the rejecters. 19 Did We not create you out of a humble fluid 20 which We placed within a sure lodging 21 till a known term decreed? 22 We determined, how excellent a Determiner are We! 23 Ah woe, that Day! to the Rejecters of Truth! 24 Have We not made the earth a container 25 for the living and the dead, 26 and did We not firmly fix towering mountains on it and give you sweet water to drink? 27 Woe on that day unto the beliers! 28 "Move towards what you used to deny!" 29 Walk on to the covering having three branches, 30 that will offer no [cooling] shade and will be of no avail against the flame 31 and throwing up sparks as huge as towers 32 As if they were yellowish [black] camels. 33 On that day, woe would be upon those who have rejected God's revelations! 34 This is the day they shall not speak 35 Nor are they suffered to put forth excuses. 36 Woe on that Day to those who belied it! 37 that Day of Distinction [between the true and the false, when they will be told]: "We have brought you together with those [sinners] of olden times; 38 So if you have a plan, then plan against Me. 39 Alas the woe that day for those who deny! 40
