The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 and obeys its Lord as it must, 2 when earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 thinking he would never revert (to Us). 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And the Moon in her fullness: 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Save those who believe and do righteous good deeds, for them is a reward that will never come to an end (i.e. Paradise). 25
