Say, [Prophet], "I am only a warner. There is no god but God, the One, the All-Powerful, 65 Lord of the heavens and the earth and whatever is between them, the Exalted in Might, the Perpetual Forgiver." 66 Say, "It (facts about the supremacy of God) is the greatest message, 67 yet you ignore it. 68 I had no knowledge of the higher Assembly when they discussed it among themselves. 69 Naught is revealed to me save that I am a plain warner. 70 Behold, thy Lord said to the angels: "I am about to create man from clay: 71 and when I have formed him fully and breathed into him of My spirit, fall you down before him in prostration!" 72 So the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together: 73 Not so lblis. He grew stiffnecked and became of the infidels. 74 (Allah) said: "O Iblis! What prevents thee from prostrating thyself to one whom I have created with my hands? Art thou haughty? Or art thou one of the high (and mighty) ones?" 75 [Iblis (Satan)] said: "I am better than he, You created me from fire, and You created him from clay." 76 Allah said: get thee forth therefrom; verily thou art driven away. 77 And verily My curse shall be on thee till the Day of Requital, 78 Satan said: “My Lord, then grant me respite till the Day that they are raised up.” 79 Allah said: verily, thou art of those respited. 80 Until the Day of the time well-known." 81 He said: "By Your authority, I will lead them astray, 82 Save Thy single-minded slaves among them. 83 The Lord said, "I swear by the Truth - and I speak the Truth - 84 that I shall certainly fill hell with you and your followers all together". 85 Say: "I do not ask any compensation of you for it, nor am I a specious pretender. 86 This [divine writ,] behold, is no less than a reminder to all the worlds — 87 and after a while you shall know its news' 88
