Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the scatterers (the wind) scattering, 1 which carry clouds laden with water, 2 Then by oath of those which move with ease. 3 and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God's] behest! 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the heaven with its numerous forms: 7 surely you are at variance (about the Hereafter); 8 though only those who are averse to the Truth will turn away from (believing in it). 9 Slain be those who mould from their imaginations. 10 Who are within a flood [of confusion] and heedless. 11 'When will the Day of Judgement be' they ask. 12 It will be the Day whereon in the Fire they will be burned 13 [and will be told:] "Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!" 14 As for the God-fearing, they shall be in the midst of gardens and fountains, 15 Receiving what is given them by their Lord. They were surely the virtuous before this. 16 They slept very little during the night 17 and asked for forgiveness in the early morning. 18 And in their substance was the right of the beggar and non-beggar. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And within yourselves. Can you not perceive? 21 And in heaven is your Sustenance, as (also) that which ye are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this is certainly true even as you speak. 23
