And certainly We created man of clay that gives forth sound, of black mud fashioned in shape. 26 And the jinn We created before, of intensely hot fire. 27 And when thy Lord said to the angels, 'See, I am creating a mortal of a clay of mud moulded. 28 "When I have fashioned him (in due proportion) and breathed into him of My spirit, fall ye down in obeisance unto him." 29 Thereupon the angels prostrated themselves, all of them together, 30 Except Iblis (Satan), - he refused to be among the prostrators. 31 "How is it, O Iblis," said (the Lord), "you did not join those who bowed in homage?" 32 He said it was not for me that I should prostrate myself unto a human being whom Thou hast created from ringing clay of loam moulded. 33 "Go hence, execrable," (said the Lord), "from this place, 34 and the curse shall be on you till the Day of Judgement!" 35 Iblis said: "My Lord! Grant me respite till the Day when they will be resurrected." 36 Said Allah, “You are of those given respite.” 37 till the appointed time. 38 He said: My Lord! because Thou hast made life evil to me, I will certainly make (evil) fair-seeming to them on earth, and I will certainly cause them all to deviate 39 "Except Your chosen, (guided) slaves among them." 40 He (Allah) said: 'This is for Me the Right Path 41 over My servants thou shalt have no authority, except those that follow thee, 42 Surely, Hell is the place to which they are destined, 43 Unto it are seven portals; unto each portal is a portion of them assigned. 44
