The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 (and none denies its descending) 2 Abasing (one party), exalting (the other), 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 And the mountains shall be crumbled to atoms, 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 You will become three categories: 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A multitude of those of old 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 immortal youths going round about them 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 And the meat of fowl, from whatever they desire. 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 As reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and shade extended, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and abundant fruit, 32 That will neither finish, nor ever be stopped. 33 and upraised couches. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 and made them virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
