Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ Blessed be He in whose hand is the Kingdom -- He is powerful over everything -- 1 who created death and life that He might examine which of you is best in deeds, and He is the Almighty, the Forgiving, 2 who created the seven heavens, one above the other. You cannot see any inconsistency in the creation of the Merciful. Return your gaze, do you see any crack! 3 Then return [your] vision twice again. [Your] vision will return to you humbled while it is fatigued. 4 And indeed, We have adorned the skies nearest to the earth with lights, and have made them the object of futile guesses for the evil ones [from among men]: and for them have We readied suffering through a blazing flame 5 And for those who disbelieved in their Lord, is the punishment of hell; and what a wretched outcome! 6 When they are cast into it they will hear it sighing, the while it boils 7 well-nigh bursting with fury; [and] every time a host [of such sinners] is flung into it, its keepers will ask them, "Has no warner ever come to you?" 8 They will say: "Yes indeed; a Warner did come to us, but we rejected him and said, 'Allah never sent down any (Message): ye are nothing but an egregious delusion!'" 9 And they will say: "Had we but listened or used our intelligence, we would not have been among the dwellers of the blazing Fire!" 10 Then they will confess their sin. So, away with the dwellers of the blazing Fire. 11 (As for) those who fear their Lord in secret, they shall surely have forgiveness and a great reward. 12 Whether you conceal what you say or reveal it, God knows best all that the hearts contain. 13 Does He who created not know, while He is the Subtle, the Acquainted? 14
