The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 No human soul but hath a guardian over it. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Coming from between the back and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 and [man] will have neither strength nor helper! 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 And the earth which splits (with the growth of trees and plants), 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is no joke. 14 Lo! they plot a plot (against thee, O Muhammad) 15 but I shall bring all their scheming to nought. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
