The Companions of the Wood rejected the messengers. 176 when their brother Shu'ayb said unto them: "Will you not be conscious of God? 177 I am a trustworthy Messenger to you. 178 So keep your duty to Allah and obey me. 179 And I do not ask you for it any payment. My payment is only from the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ Give a full measure and be not of those who diminish; 181 And weigh with an even balance. 182 "And withhold not things justly due to men, nor do evil in the land, working mischief. 183 "And fear Him Who created you and (who created) the generations before (you)" 184 They said: "You are no more than one of those who have been bewitched, 185 you are only a mortal like us. Indeed we believe that you are an utter liar. 186 Drop down on us lumps from heaven, if you are one of the truthful' 187 (Shu'aib) said: "My Lord knows well what you are doing." 188 They rejected him and then the torment of the gloomy day struck them. It was certainly a great torment. 189 Verily, in this is indeed a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 190 And verily! Your Lord, He is indeed the All-Mighty, the Most Merciful. 191
