By no means! By the moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning for people -- 36 whether one steps forward to embrace the faith or one turns away from it. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 except those of the right hand 39 [dwelling] In gardens [of paradise,] they will inquire 40 About the guilty: 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They shall say: We were not of those who prayed; 43 And we used not to feed the poor; 44 And we used to enter into vain discourse with those who engaged [in it], 45 "And we used to deny the Day of Judgment, 46 until the Inevitable End [death] overtook us." 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 Then what is wrong with them that they turn away from admonition, 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 Is it that everyone of them wants to receive a heavenly book addressed to him personally? 52 By no means. In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 By no means! Verily this Qur'an is an admonition. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 No one will seek guidance unless God wills it. He alone is worthy of being feared and He is the Source of Forgiveness. 56
