The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
I swear by the angels who violently pull out the souls of the wicked, 1 By the angels who release with gentle release. 2 By the lone stars floating, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 Then arrange to do (the Commands of their Lord), 5 A Day shall come whereon the quaking will quake, 6 followed by the succeeding, 7 Hearts on that Day will be throbbing; 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 (The disbelievers) say, "Shall we be brought back to life again 10 Even after we are crumbled bones? 11 They will say: 'Then we are returned lost' 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 and lo, they will all be in the open plain. 14 Has there come to you the story of Musa (Moses)? 15 Behold, thy Lord did call to him in the sacred valley of Tuwa:- 16 "Go to the Pharaoh who has become refractory, 17 And say (unto him): Hast thou (will) to grow (in grace)? 18 Then I will guide thee to thy Lord and thou shalt fear (Him). 19 He showed him the mighty sign, 20 In response, he denied and disobeyed. 21 Further, he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 Then he collected (his men) and made a proclamation, 23 And then said, “I am your most supreme lord.” 24 but God seized him and meted out to him the chastisement of both the next world and the present: 25 In this there is a lesson for those who have fear of God. 26
