The people of Lot rejected the Messengers. 160 Behold, their brother Lut said to them: "Will ye not fear (Allah)? 161 Verily I am unto you an apostle trusted. 162 So fear Allah and obey me. 163 And I ask of you no hire therefor; my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 164 What! do you come to the males from among the creatures 165 And leave the wives your Lord created for you? Nay, but ye are froward folk. 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 He said, "I certainly hate what you practice. 168 My Lord! deliver me and my household from that which they work. 169 So We saved him and his whole family 170 Except one old woman, who stayed behind. 171 and then We utterly destroyed the others, 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 Verily herein is a sign, yet most of them are not believers. 174 Your Lord, He is the Almighty, the Most Merciful. 175
